Alvin Oei Awarded Denhart Family Sustainability Prize

Environmental + Designmatters Concentration student Alvin Oei has been awarded a Denhart Prize.

This prize is given to 3 outstanding student projects each year that address sustainability while also advancing art and design, and which have the potential to influence other students, education and professional practice.

1st Prize $15,000/ Alvin Oei, The Healing Tree: An immersive environmental design project to reduce patient stress and optimize healing within a pediatric burn clinic in Chile. The carefully coordinated system of spaces and graphics and culturally based characters and storybooks help mitigate children’s fears during treatment.
